Young entrepreneurs took the centre stage on Commonwealth Day

On 9 March 2026, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) CPA Rwanda Branch marked Commonwealth Day at the Parliament of Rwanda under the theme β€œUnlocking Opportunities Together for a Prosperous Commonwealth.” The event brought together Members of Parliament, government representatives, young entrepreneurs, and university students to discuss youth-led innovation and economic growth.

Opening the session, Hon. Donatha Gihana, Chairperson of the CPA Rwanda Executive Committee, highlighted Rwanda’s journey as the 54th member of the Commonwealth of Nations and encouraged young people to use Commonwealth networks to expand opportunities and grow their businesses.

Discussions focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and access to resources such as mentorship, funding, and markets. Participants shared experiences on how youth-led ventures can contribute to national and regional development.

In closing, Hon. Madina Ndangiza praised the role of young entrepreneurs, noting that investing in their ideas and talents is key to building a prosperous future for the Commonwealth and beyond
